Open a New 2D drawing (switching the workbench to
"Drafting"; just starting with a blank sheet) (Fig1)

Select "Text" on the toolbar "Annotations" and click
somewhere near the origin; Then enter any texts you want
in the textbox (Fig2)

Save the file as DXF format and close the drawing

Open the DXF file and you will see that the text has been
converted into lines. (Fig3)

Select and copy all the lines (Fig 4)

Back to your existing 3D model or start with a new 3D

Go
to "Sketcher" workbench and paste all lines onto the
sketch. Then you can use the sketcher's command to
reposition /resize the geometry (Fig5)

Exit the sketcher, and use "Pad" command to make it into
3D (Fig6)
